Spring is in full bloom, and we are making the most of the beautiful Phoenix weather before the summer heat arrives! While we won’t have a Stammtisch this month, we invite you to join us at the Swiss Spring Picnic—a great opportunity to relax outdoors, enjoy good food, and connect with fellow European friends.

📅 Date: Sunday, April 13, 2025 – 12:00 Noon

📍 Location: Desert Breeze Park, Chandler (Mesquite & Palo Verde Pavilions)

🍽 Food: Potluck – Bring your favorite side dish or dessert! Swiss-style grilled Bratwurst and Cervelas, baguettes, drinks, and beer will be provided.

🎟 Cost: $20 per adult; teens and children attend for free!

🐶 Extras: Kids' activities, music, and dogs on leashes are welcome!

From the Homeland 🇦🇹

Austria has just wrapped up one of the busiest Vienna Ball seasons in history, with grand celebrations filling the palaces and ballrooms of the capital. Now, as winter finally loosens its grip, the country shifts its focus to spring traditions and Easter festivities.

One of the highlights of the season is the famous Schönbrunn Easter Market, where locals and visitors gather to enjoy traditional crafts, live music, and festive treats against the stunning backdrop of the imperial palace. While we may not be strolling through Schönbrunn, we can still embrace the festive spirit here in Arizona!

Let’s enjoy the season together and make the most of these beautiful spring days. We look forward to seeing many of you at the picnic!

Presidents Newsletter MARCH 2025

Dear Friends,

I hope this letter finds you in great health and high spirits. It is always a pleasure to connect with people, especially fellow Austrians here in Arizona. We can be grateful for the warm and welcoming community we’ve built together.

The Austrian Society of Arizona continues to be a beacon of culture, tradition, and friendship, keeping our heritage alive through wonderful gatherings and shared experiences. It is through our collective efforts that we celebrate and uphold the values and traditions that make our community so special.

We were fortunate to enjoy a truly wonderful February with beautiful weather. Let’s hope the rest of the year will continue to bless us with such good weather!

A special thank you to Tanya Sibrava for her insightful talk on heart disease and the ways we can prevent it. Her presentation was truly informative, and we appreciate her taking the time to share such important knowledge with all of us.

Looking ahead, we invite you to join us for the next Stammtisch on Saturday, March 8, at noon at “The Treffpunkt” (14325 N 79th Street Suite A, Scottsdale, AZ 85260). This will be a great opportunity to come together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. We are also pleased to announce that Micah Wimmer will be our guest speaker, bringing valuable insights to “Desert Survival Made Simple: Everyday Preparedness for Active Arizonans”
